DISAPPEAR: Wajedie Smith, 38, of Surrey Estate
A Surrey Estate family is pleading for help in finding their brother who mysteriously vanished while walking to mosque.
The worried brother of Wajedie Smith, 38, says the last time he saw his twin was 19 November.
Majedie, 38, says his brother is an unmarried panelbeater who spends most of his time at work and home.
“He is not married and doesn’t have any children.
“We live on the same property and on that day I saw him in the road before Maghrib,” he says.
“He was wearing a black salaah top and he said he was going to the mosque. Then I noticed he did not come home.”
Majedie says he went to the mosque and some of his brother’s friends but could not find him.
“Nobody at the mosque had seen him that day and none of his friends could tell us anything so we went to the police station to report him missing.
“He has been gone for two weeks now and we are very worried because he may go out but never goes missing.
“After my mother, Fatiema, died from cancer last year he became depressed and was never the same again. We are appealing to anyone who may have seen him to please come forward.”
Manenberg SAPS confirms that a missing persons case has been opened and ask that anyone with information on the whereabouts of Wajedie to call Sergeant Natasha Landers on 082 469 7628.
