Community members attacked alleged robbers who stole toilet paper from a Klipfontein Mission Station house in Philippi.
The two were tied up and moered after the residents went searching for them.
A 26-year-old woman says: “They broke into a house and stole five packs, with 48 rolls of toilet paper, entjies, a TV, cables, spices and money.
“The police were called in and they didn’t come and also people went to the police station and they still didn’t come.”
She tells the Daily Voice that the two are part of a gang that goes around breaking into people’s homes.
“Every time there is a burglary, it is them, and if the police had arrested them, we would not have such a problem now.
“We know that there are more people out there and one of them has a car, because they could not have walked with five big packs of toilet rolls.”
She says cops came out after they posted a video of the beating on crime groups on WhatsApp.
The clip shows the two bleeding skollies as women ask them what they did with the TV and the entjies, to which they replied that they smoked them all and the TV is in Marikana.
The community member says they have been to the skollies’ homes.
“We found some spices in one of their moms’ houses and there was toilet paper also.
“We have not been able to find anything else.”
