An alleged burglar is lucky to be alive after two women saved him from being beaten to death by his own brasse.
The man was apparently being moered to a pulp because he refused to share the loot among his crew.
The two women, who asked to remain anonymous, say on Tuesday, they saw the man being attacked along Amadeus Drive in Kraaifontein just after 2pm.
“We were driving down the road and saw a group of eight men attacking one person. They were beating him with sticks and trying to drown him in the dirty mud puddle along the road.
“I told my helper they were going to kill him. It looked as if one of the guys had a firearm on him,” the woman says.
The woman says she remembered an emergency WhatsApp group she was on and immediately asked for assistance.
“I alerted members of the group about the incident I was witnessing and within
10 minutes emergency personnel and police were on scene,” she says.

Officers of Titanium Security said they responded after receiving multiple calls for help and found the man lying semi-conscious in a pool of mud: “At 2.50pm, our Tactical Emergency Medical Support Unit received multiple calls for help about someone being assaulted by eight people in Amadeus Drive.
“Our units quickly responded to the scene with our medical response ambulance already en route. Upon arrival we found the victim on the ground. Our medics quickly attended to him and loaded him in the ambulance for transport to a hospital.
“We heard that the victim was actually involved in a break-in and was being beaten by his accomplices because of this,” the company stated.
Police spokesperson, Captain FC van Wyk, says they are unaware of the incident.
