Motorists have been warned to brace themselves for a steep fuel hike next month.
This is according to the Automobile Association (AA), which was commenting on unaudited mid-month fuel price data released by the Central Energy Fund.
At this mid-month point, petrol is set for a whopping increase of 78c a litre, diesel around 60c a litre, and illuminating paraffin by 62c.
“The problem is international oil prices which have been consistently climbing with each passing day,” the AA says.
“A general increase in positive sentiment as Covid-19 vaccines are rolled out has combined with upticks in global economic activity, pushing up demand.”
