Police sources say a cache of deadly weapons and explosives found at a house in Bishop Lavis is linked to suspected 28s gang boss Ralph Stanfield.
On Saturday, cops arrested a 30-year-old suspect at his home in Eighth Street, Bishop Lavis.
Top police sources say the man, Keith “White Boy” Moore, is an alleged henchman of Stanfield’s.
The suspect made his first appearance at the Bishop Lavis Magistrate's Court on Monday on charges of illegal possession of firearms, explosives and ammunition.
On Saturday, a police intelligence team found two firearms - a 9mm pistol and a 7.65mm pistol - 600 grams of PE4 explosives, six detonators, one safety fuse, a variety of ammunition of different calibres, a bulletproof vest, as well as firearm maintenance equipment at the man’s house.

“He is known as White Boy and is one of Ralph Stanfield’s men,” says a source.
The case has been postponed for further investigation and he will be back in court on Friday 25 August.
It’s not the first time cops have found deadly arms caches on the Flats.
Last October police were led to an underground vault in Valhalla Park where 250 police-issue firearms and ammunition were being stored.
Top police sources have linked the weapons to convicted former cop Christian Prinsloo, who admitted to stealing SAPS firearms and ammunition destined for destruction and supplying the weapons to criminals - “primarily to gang members on the Cape Flats”.
In July, Stanfield survived an attempt on his life after being shot while sitting in his larney Audi R8 sportscar, which was parked in Melrose in Johannesburg.
Stanfield was attacked by masked men and, according to police, three of the 14 bullets fired struck him in the upper body.
Cops say Stanfield was wearing a bulletproof vest and was alone inside the vehicle at the time.
The 37-year-old tried to drive himself to the nearby Morningside Medi-Clinic in Sandton, but lost control of his car and smashed into three other vehicles.
A few days later an alleged bodyguard of Stanfield’s was arrested at a private hospital after being found in possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.
Last November, Stanfield’s lawyer, Noorudien Hassan, was gunned down during a suspected hit while sitting in his car outside his Lansdowne home.
