A matric pupil will be facing criminal charges and a disciplinary hearing after he allegedly stabbed a fellow pupil at school.
It is alleged the 17-year-old jumped over the wall during interval and ran home to fetch a knife which he used to stab Grade 10 pupil, Crezlyndt Pool, at John Ramsay High School in Bishop Lavis on Monday.
Crezlyndt, 18, was knifed in the ribs and is recovering after receiving six stitches.
Crezlyndt tells the Daily Voice while walking down the stairs during second break his attacker allegedly walked up to him and smacked him.
He says neither he nor the teen are gangsters and he has no idea why the boy attacked him.
“When I came out of class and was walking down the stairs, he just walked up to me and smacked me,” Crezlyndt explains.

“I don’t really know this boy and there wasn’t an argument. He is a very quiet boy from what I know and this is not gang-related.
“Before I could ask him why he smacked me, he stabbed me and ran home again,” Crezlyndt says.
“People think I am dead, but I want to tell them that I am alive. I will be going back to school I am in pain, but managing.”
Crezlyndt’s father, Riaan Pool, says they want answers: “A school is where your child is supposed to be safe. We have opened a case with police.”
Ward councillor Asa Abrahams says she will be engaging the principal about the incident.
Jessica Shelver, spokesperson for Education MEC Debbie Schäfer, says disciplinary action will be taken: “On Monday, the principal of John Ramsay Secondary School confirmed that a stabbing took place at the school around 12.30pm, just as second break ended.
