Mitchells Plain residents are up in arms over a foreign national shopowner who allegedly stabbed a teen during an argument on Sunday.
The Bangladeshi tuckshop owner has not been seen at the shop since then.
Ronzay Arendse, 19, from Rocklands, lives opposite the winkel and says he was buying sweets at around 5pm on Sunday when he got into an argument with the owner who allegedly told him to “f*** off out of my shop”.
“I told him don’t be rude, I’m not these boys you can just talk to like that,” he said.
“He then came out from behind the counter and grabbed me by my chest and started punching me and I told him I don’t want to fight and then I sat on top of him to stop him.

“He stabbed me on my left side close to my lung. I fought to get the knife from him as he aimed for my neck.”
Ronzay was rushed to hospital after he escaped.
The teen was discharged on Monday and has since opened a case against the man.
Police did not respond to queries, but a source says two cases are being investigated after the shopowner apparently accused Ronzay of
trying to rob him.
“Ronzay made an assault GBH case against the man and he opened a case of
business robbery against Ronzay,” says the source.

But a neighbour, who asked not to be named, rubbished the robbery claims and says Ronzay and his friends were drinking beer before the incident.
“Ronzay didn’t rob anyone, he might have been intoxicated and went to buy something but he wouldn’t take stuff from that man,” says the resident.
“He is rude and doesn’t have a way of speaking to
customers.”
