The SABC is bracing for a possible blackout today with workers taking to the streets to fight against retrenchments, as more political parties have joined the fight against the job cuts.
The ANC, EFF and Cope were already picketing alongside workers outside the Auckland Park studios on Thursday.
The Communication Workers Union (CWU) said the protests would be held by workers at SABC regional offices throughout the country.
CWU general secretary Aubrey Tshabalala said the union was demanding that the SABC, which announced a R511m net loss, retract all letters of dismissals that had already been issued to affected employees.
