A dief broke into Belhar Fire Station early on Tuesday morning, robbing a firefighter of a cellphone and necklace.
The City of Cape Town confirmed the intruder entered the station after 1.30am.
“He gained access via an upstairs bathroom window after which he confronted and robbed a firefighter of a cellphone and necklace. There were no injuries,” it said.
“The intruder attempted to enter another firefighter’s room, but was blocked by other firefighters. He escaped over the back wall of the station after being chased by firefighters.
The City says the case has been reported to SAPS along with video footage of the skelm.
