Two senior police officers accused of raping a 20-year-old woman have ditched their lawyer just as their trial was set to begin.
Warrant Officer Tobias Prins, 56 and his colleague, Julian Salie, who are both stationed at Lentegeur Police Station, made a brief appearance at the Mitchells Plain Regional Court on Friday morning facing a charge of rape.

The duo allegedly raped the woman inside her Mitchell's Plain home last year and it is believed another colleague also broke down her door.
The cops' lawyer, Raymond Davies, told the court they were going to appoint a new advocate.
The matter which was set down for pre-trial on Friday has been postponed to May 7.

The men who are out on warning were told to be back at court on the new date.
Prins made headlines a week ago after he and a fellow cop, Captain Jerome Adams, 48 were arrested for corruption at Zevenwacht Mall in Kuilsriver for allegedly being in possession of R5 000 each relating to accepting a bribe from a member of the public.
They were released out on R3 000 bail each.
