Police have identified the man who was found strangled on a field in New Horizon this week.
Cops have named the man as Jonathan Solomon, 50, who went missing on Sunday after leaving his home in New Horizon.
Jonathan’s employer and his family reported him missing on the same day.
His body was discovered on Sunday afternoon on a field along Lark Road, New Horizon near Pelican Park.
Police did not immediately recognise him as the missing person.
He was found lying with his face down in the bushes and had died after being strangled.
He was dressed in a grey and black jacket, grey pants, blue boxer shorts and white takkies.
Police are appealing for information to help solve the case.
Grassy Park Police’s spokesperson, Captain Wynita Kleinsmith, says: “The body was covered under bushes, face down.
“It is believed the deceased was strangled to death. There are no suspects and the motive is not known. All possible leads are being followed up.
“The public are asked to contact Sergeant Hakeem Williams on 082 302 3776 with helpful information. The reward system has proved to be fruitful.
“This allows for any adult member of the community to become pro-actively involved in the prevention of crime.”
Kleinsmith also confirmed to the Daily Voice that the dead man had been identified as Jonathan.
