The woman and her male accomplice were caught red-handed, their loot stuffed under their own clothing.

Cops sources say they believe the two belong to a syndicate which targets Pep stores in malls.

The two were caught at the Pep in Delft Mall, but cops confiscated stolen goods that originated from another Pep in Athlone.

The drama unfolded at the Delft Mall on Thursday when wakker security guards became suspicious.

They then searched her and found a stash of panties, bras, handbags and children’s clothing.

Alert security personnel then linked the woman to a man who had been waiting in the parking lot for her, ready to make a run for it.

Inside the vehicle, the guards found more loot which had allegedly been stolen from Pep in Athlone on the same day.

Security clamped the wheels of the getaway car and handcuffed the suspects.

“They were arrested before they could get the merchandise to the car,” says the source.

"Inside the car there was more clothing which we learnt belonged to Pep Athlone. The woman hid of the clothing underneath her own clothing and inside her bra.

“The person inside the vehicle wanted to leave, but the car was clamped while police were to arrive at the scene.”

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Botsotso George Mjiwu, confirmed a case of shoplif-

ting has been opened for investigation.

But according to Mjiwu, only a 24-year-old man was arrested, and was expected to appear at the Bellville Magistrate's Court once charged.
