An alleged gang boss from Parkwood accused of killing a seven-year-old boy has made an about turn and has now applied for bail to be released from Pollsmoor Prison.
This was revealed at the Cape High Court on Friday where Tasliem “Thaliem” Bianchi, Ikeraam Bianchi, Marlon Neehuis, Kimberley Solomons and Kelly Daniels made their first appearance for pre-trial proceedings for the murder of Ezra Daniels.
Little Ezra died on 3 September 2017 when a bullet intended for a gangster hit him in the neck while he was playing in Abdullah Moosa Walk.
The accused has been charged with murder, two attempted murders, contraventions of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act (Poca) and the unlawful possession of ammunition and a firearm.
According to the indictment, the five were seen in a white VW Golf driven by Neehuis on the day Ezra died.
Thaliem, the alleged leader of the Junkie Funkies, allegedly tried to shoot Aiden Roman, a member of the Americans gang, but missed hitting Ezra instead.

Cops found the vehicle in Edna Court where Thaliem was also found hiding in a bedroom. Ikeraam was found playing cards and allegedly told his friends to lie to police claiming he was there the entire day.
Daniels, who was pregnant at the time, was found inside the car and arrested while Neehuis handed himself over to police the next day.
Cops conducted a primer residue test and only Thaliem tested positive.
The five are also accused of the attempted murder of Neehuis’s son, Machel, who was playing with Ezra at the time.
On Friday, Thaliem revealed that despite using private advocates for the past year, he now needs Legal Aid as he planned to apply for bail.
The case was postponed to 16 November.
