Shocking details of how a 58-year old alleged paedophile abused young boys on the Cape Flats emerged in court on Wednesday.
The investigating officer in the case against David “Ta Pops” Dudley told the Wynberg Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Wednesday) that two of the alleged victims were made to penetrate the suspect’s anus at the same time on several occasions.
Dudley, who runs a panel beating business from his home in Kenwyn is facing seven counts of rape and two of sexual assault.
His alleged victims, who all live in council flats in Ottery, told police that he had paid them for sexual favours.
The boys came forward after rumours started spreading in the flats about the abuse.
Community workers approached the boys’ families and they were brought to the Grassy Park Police Station.

Captain Laganathan Chetty from the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit testified that he had spoken to all the boys himself and taken their statements.
The first boy, an 18-year old, said Dudley picked him up regularly over a period of a few months.
He said Dudley paid him to penetrate him anally and to perform oral sex on him.
The cop testified that the boys all told of how Dudley would use the various cars he was working on to pick them up.
He also gave them substances he bought from Pick n Pay Hyper in Ottery to give them erections.
He would then allegedly drive to secluded areas where he told the boys to perform sexual acts on him or with him, and then pay them “anything from R36 to R300”.
Chetty confirmed that Dudley was a soccer coach and was involved in various community outreach programmes, and he believed the alleged paedo used this to groom his victims.
He says the boys aged 10 to 18 were all friends and sometimes Dudley would call two of them for a threesome.
“Two of the victims, now 12, who said their ordeal started in 2017, said they were made to penetrate the suspect anally at the same time,” Chetty said.
On Tuesday, Dudley’s lawyer, Advocate Mia, said his client intends pleading “not guilty” to all the charges.
He said Dudley’s parents and three children aged 15, seven and one are all dependent on him as the sole breadwinner.
The defence asked for bail to be set at R1000.
The matter continues.
