A state witness who took to the stand to piemp Springbok mom Leandre Williams for allegedly luring her friends into sex work, has been labelled a liar at the Western Cape High Court.
Shireen Marcus, 32, spent two days on the witness stand as she told the court how young women left a town known as Matjieskloof in the hopes of a better life in Cape Town, but instead ended up spending their nights working as drugged up sex slaves.
Williams, along with her husband Edward Ayuk and brother-in-law Yannick, are facing over 40 charges after allegedly operating a brothel in Milnerton where they forced unsuspecting victims to use drugs and work as prostitutes.
The young women were guarded day and night to keep them from escaping.
The trio have pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
Leandre specifically is accused of luring three women from Springbok by promising them work in Cape Town.
Court proceedings were halted three times during Marcus’ testimony as she sobbed in the dock continuously.
On Thursday shortly before finishing her testimony, Leandre could be seen giving her vuil kyke as she started crying.
Marcus claimed that she knew two of the victims whom Leandre and Edward collected.
She told the court that she saw Edward collect the girls in a blue car as one of them greeted her before she left.
She also claimed that Leandre tried to convince her to come with them to Cape Town.
Edward’s lawyer, Mohammed Sibda, called on the court not to accept her testimony and highlighted different versions given during her testimony.
