Cape Flats pastor Oscar Bougardt is no fan of 7de Laan.
The outspoken holy man has launched a crusade against the local soapie and the SABC which last week broadcast the show’s first gay kissing scene.
And he has taken his fight to the Human Rights Commission.
The notoriously homophobic Bougardt, who previously faced a lawsuit for hate speech, says: “How can a baardbek kiss another baardbek that’s disgusting.
“I feel SABC and [producer] Danie Odendaal had a responsibility of warning viewers before displaying a gay kissing scene which was about to broadcast.
“That way adults or parents could have prevented children from being exposed to the explicit scene.”
Bougardt of Strandfontein is a pastor at the Calvary Hope Ministries.
He laid a complaint with the Human Right Commission on Monday.
“I have a huge problem with this scene as 7de Laan is a family show,” he says.
“I have lodged an official complaint with the Human Rights Commission, but haven’t received response yet.
“This is violating my religious rights and also my privacy.”
Bougardt was recently attacked on social media for expressing his anti-gay views.
“When I posted my feelings towards this issue, I was hit back with negative comments - people were swearing at me and were unhappy about my post,” he said.
“Everyone is going to complain on social media, but nobody is going to take action.
“This is how they want to brainwash the children into thinking it’s right to be gay.
“In future, warn viewers or put on the programme later at night so children won’t be exposed to scenes that are not suitable for them.”
