South Africa’s e-commerce sector got a boost on Tuesday when Proudly South African launched an online shopping site populated exclusively with local products.
In 2017, the country boasted an active online shopping population of over 18 million, racking up sales of R37.1 billion.
In addition, the site www.rsamade.co.za has a fully functioning ticketing system and local events are encouraged to use this platform for their online ticket sales.
Proudly SA will vet and verify local content and quality and all the vendors adhere to labour and environmental legislation which is part of the terms of Proudly SA membership.
Currently China supplies US $15.5 billion of imports to SA, much of it found on online shopping sites.
