After an intense investigation, detectives from Manenberg Police Station arrested the men during the early hours of yesterday morning.
The trio are expected to make their first appearance at the Athlone Magistrates’ Court on 1 June and will face a charge of murder.
Captain Ian Bennett explains the men are believed to be behind the murder of a 33-year-old man in Kasouga Road, Manenberg, on Saturday.
The man who was shot, tried to flee from his attackers, but collapsed and died.
Bennet says: “Manenberg detectives have worked around the clock and arrested three males ages 21, 27 and 30 years old [yesterday] at 5.30am.
“They will be appearing in the Athlone Magistrates’ Court on Thursday in connection with the murder of the 33-year-old male.
“On Saturday the victim was fatally wounded in a shooting incident.
“It is alleged that the victim was on his way to Ruimte Road when he was approached by three males. One of them pulled out a firearm and shot the 33-year-old male as he tried running for cover.
“The victim then tried running for help and he collapsed in Kasouga Road where he succumbed to his injuries.
“The three males fled the scene on foot.”
