A Seawinds madressa teacher has been arrested again for allegedly molesting young boys in his care.
Sheikh Faizel Suleiman, who was out on bail, was arrested on 20 June for the attempted rape of a 12-year-old boy at the Ansaaru Rahman Muslim Youth madressa in Seawinds where he is a teacher.
In January, Suleiman was charged with the rape of a 14-year-old boy.
This alleged incident happened in December 2019 while the boy had slept at the same premises.
The mother of the 12-year-old boy says: “My son and his dad were sleeping at the mosque two days before Eid in May, they got up early in the morning for prayers and went back to sleep.
“While my boy was sleeping, Faizel got into the bed and tried to turn him on his side with his privates out.”
The mom, 40, says her son woke up, but was too scared to move.

“But he says when he felt Faizel wanted to pull down his pants, he jumped up and ran to his dad.
“He didn’t tell his dad immediately, he rather ran home and came to tell me. He was crying because he didn’t know why Faizel would do that to him.
“I’ve never read about Faizel in the Daily Voice before, but I heard people talk about him, I didn’t know him at the time (in January).
“I know my son looked up to Faizel and never expected this to happen.”
She decided to open a case after her husband threatened to “harm” the suspect.
“I don’t want my husband to go to jail for something that some sick guy did to our son.”
Police spokesman Captain FC van Wyk confirmed Suleiman appeared in the Simon’s Town Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday on a charge of attempted rape.
He remains in custody and the case was postponed to Friday for a bail application.
