Grassy Park police are appealing for help to trace a man they believe can help them solve the murder of Keanan Williams, who was stabbed and left to die in the street.
Station commander Colonel Dawood Laing says the body of the 23-year-old man was found at Retreat Day Hospital on 29 January, after he had been stabbed in the neck and heart in an apparent
argument.
Keanan was laid to rest at Klip Road Cemetery last week and his heartbroken parents say they cannot get closure as there are too many unanswered questions.
Stepmom Sabera Williams, 53, says on the day of the murder, she received a message from a family friend that Keanan had been stabbed.
“I was at work at the time and she came to me to say that people had carried him to 9th Avenue, where somebody with a bakkie took him to hospital where he died,” she says.
GONE: Keanan Williams
Laing says police were called to the hospital shortly after 3pm, where they were told Keanan was stabbed on the corner of Fisherman’s Walk and First Road.
“It is unclear what led to the argument, but we are looking for Shaun ‘Whitey’ Solomons as we believe he can help with the investigation,” he says.
“Our detective has been searching various areas where he is known to be, such as Paarl, Table View and Philippi, but have been unable to find him.”
Finding Whitey, says Sabera, will mean the world to Keanan’s family.
CRUCIAL: Shaun Solomons
“We are not coping because we don’t understand why he was killed like that,” she says.
“Keanan did not have any children and I am heartsore. He has been my child since he was just six-years-old and myself and his father, Anthony, just want closure.”
Police have urged anyone who knows where Whitey is to call Sergeant Clifton Slingers on 074 389 6578
