ER24 spokesman Werner Vermaak said paramedics arrived at the man’s house at about 4pm on Tuesday May 30, where they had found him with a serious wound to his neck.

Security guards told the paramedics the man had apparently been stabbed about half a block away and had run home and collapsed.

“There was nothing that paramedics could do for him and he was declared dead,” says Vermaak.

“Police attended to the scene and walked with paramedics to the street where they found the trail of blood. The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known,” says Vermaak.

Police spokesman Captain FC van Wyk said police were investigating a murder and had arrested a 20-year-old Hanover Park man.

Three armed men hijacked a man as he left the mosque in Waterloo Road, Kenwyn, on Monday May 29, at 8.30pm.

The men took the man’s wallet and drove off in his Hyundai Tucson SUV.

Neighbourhood watch members alerted to the incident cornered the hijackers along Joanne and Wetton roads.

The men opened fire on the watch members as they abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. Police later arrested a suspect.

No one was injured

Captain Gavin Sia at Lansdowne police station confirmed that the incident took place in the precinct.
