A young woman was shocked to find her house had been burgled in her sleep. She only found out after security officials, who caught the crook, woke her up.

Between 9 and 10am, the speedy response of Landry Securities and a neighbour’s description in Shelley Street, Windsor Park, resulted in the arrest of the burglar.

Owner of Landry Securities, Gordon Landry, says they received the information from the local neighbourhood WhatsApp group.

“We saw the information about a house burglary and responded as fast as lightning to the scene,” he says.

“A neighbour gave us a description of the suspect who was running towards the N1 highway.”

The security team nabbed the suspect in Hout Street and handed him over to police.

“When we got to the home that was burgled, the woman was still sleeping and unaware her home had been burgled.

“We could return all the stolen goods including a sand grinder. We thank the police for their quick response and the community chat group,” Landry added.
