Kite enthusiasts from England, Germany, Malaysia and the Netherlands will be taking their kites to the sky. All of the profits will go to help Cape Mental Health provide essential mental health services to children and adults across the country.
“We all have the basic right to fly - to explore our abilities, develop our skills and soar freely at home, work, school and in our community,” Ingrid Daniels, director of Cape Mental Health, said.
There will be free kite-making workshops for children and adults as well as rides, a free Toddler Zone, food market and live entertainment. The festival takes place at Zandvlei Nature Reserve, Muizenberg, corner of Axminster and The Row, from 10am to 6pm daily.
There is easy access by train (False Bay or Muizenberg stations). Entry is R40 (R15 for children 12 years and under). Tickets available at the gate or via www.quicket.co.za.
