The ex-berk of a 19-year-old, girl who was dragged to her death on Boxing Day last year, wants to be free.
Gillano Sassman, 21, made a brief appearance at the Bishop Lavis Magistrate's Court on Wednesday where he said he wanted to apply for bail.
Sassman is facing a charge of murder for allegedly killing his ex-girlfriend, Ismah Hill, of Kalksteenfontein.
He was arrested on the day of Ismah’s funeral on 27 December while hiding out in the area.
On Wednesday, Ismah’s family including her sister, Toufeeqah Hill, 21, were unable to get into the packed courtroom to face her alleged killer.
The matter was postponed to 9 February for a formal bail application.
Sassman, a suspected gangster, allegedly shot her in the head and dragged her body into a neighbour's backyard.
He then allegedly placed a plastic bag over her head.
