The hunt for a nine-year-old girl who has been missing for four days has intensified as various community organisations led by the SAPS, Metro Police and the Western Cape Missing Persons Unit comb Thubelitsha in Delft.

Linathi Titshala left her grandmother’s home about 10am on Sunday morning to go to her own hokkie, two doors down. She has not been seen since.

She celebrated her birthday the day before at her family’s home in Cork Tree Street.

For three days the family has searched tirelessly for the bubbly little girl without finding any trace of her.

Police spokesman, Captain FC van Wyk, has appealed to the public to join the search.

“This office can confirm that the nine-year-old Linathi Titshala went missing on Sunday, 16 December, just after 10am,” he says.

“The child last wore a black pair of skinny jeans, a grey top with laces at the back and black slippers.

“Intensive searches were done by the police, Law Enforcement, Metro Police, Metro Police Dog Unit and community organisations.

“The search is ongoing and we request the community to get involved in finding this child safely.

“Anyone with information about the child is requested to contact investigating officer Detective Constable Nomabandla Kolweni of Delft Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit at 084 498 0696 or SAPS Delft at 021 954 9000.”
