A Heideveld dad has made an appeal to the public to help find his stolen white 1400 Nissan bakkie.
Abubakir Peters, 33, says the bakkie was parked in Victoria Walk, Woodstock when a skelm, caught on CCTV footage, scouted it then jumped into it and drove away on Wednesday afternoon.
“I parked from the morning 11:30am and noticed it was gone at 3:20pm. I was at work,” says a hartseer Abubakir.
The bakkie has silver and green mags, a grey patch on the driver’s side roof, a sticker on the petrol tank and sport lights on the bumper.
“This is a business vehicle which we have had for just over a year now. I need to find it and appeal to anyone to please let us know or inform the police if they spot it somewhere,” he says.
Warrant Officer, Joseph Swartbooi, says: “Woodstock Police are investigating a case of theft of a motor vehicle.
“According to reports the complainant parked his vehicle in Victoria walk, Woodstock on Wednesday. Upon returning to the vehicle he discovered that it was not where he parked it earlier.
“The suspect in the matter is unknown and yet to be arrested. The investigation into the matter continues.”
