A Delft family needs help after they lost everything when their Wendy house burnt to ashes a week ago.
Cecil Felix says his whole life changed when his panicked nine-year-old daughter told him that their home was on fire.
“Two of my daughters and four grandchildren were in the house at the time of the fire. And all managed to escape,” he says.
“My wife, who is in a wheelchair, also managed to escape.
“I am still in shock. I’m just glad no one got hurt.”
City Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson Jermaine Carelse confirmed the blaze.
“The City’s Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to an informal structure alight at Roosendal, Delft.
“Fire crews were dispatched to the scene. It was found that two wood and iron structures were alight.
“Both structures and contents were completely destroyed by the fire. The fire was extinguished at 9.41pm and no injuries were reported.
“The cause has not yet been determined,” says Carelse.
Anisah Thomas, who works with Cecil, contacted the Daily Voice to ask for assistance as her colleague lost everything in the fire.
