The pantless body of a man was found with his hands bound and a gunshot wound to the head in a bush near his home.
Shocked neighbours and family of Adriaan de Vos, 26, rushed to the scene along Spine Road and Weltreveden Road in Rocklands, Mitchells Plain, yesterday.
The body was found in a bush between Spine View Primary and Cedar Secondary School.
Adriaan’s pants had been removed and his hand tied with an object.
His head was also covered, believed to be with his jacket.
A tattoo on the man’s body helped relatives identify him.
The deceased’s mother’s name was inked on his chest.
Adriaan’s sister, who identified herself as Aurial, was too traumatised to speak.
Circumstances around his death is a mystery.
“We are in the dark like everyone else is,” Aurial said.
“He was my brother and we are meeting with family, we are unable to speak right now.”
Constable Noloyiso Rwexana says cops have opened a case of murder: “We can confirm that the body of an adult male was found on an open field with a gunshot wound to the head.
“His hands were tied and we are investigating the circumstances.”
