The Anti-Gang Unit has arrested a gunman after he allegedly shot a disabled man who was a witness in a court case.
Cops say Anti-Gang Unit members were called to Begonia Street, Uitsig, Ravensmead on Tuesday afternoon where they found the body of the 23-year-old man. He has only one leg.
It is believed the gunman, who had been on foot, shot the man, only identified as Heinwin, while he sat behind security gates.
At the scene, community members informed the Daily Voice that the man was expected to testify in court but would not reveal further details about the case.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut, confirms the arrest: “The circumstances surrounding the death of a 23-year-old man are being investigated after he was shot and killed in Begonia Street, Uitsig, Ravensmead on Tuesday.
“Members of the Anti-Gang Unit responded to the incident and arrested the suspect.
“Once charged, he is due to make a court appearance for murder.”
