A Hanover Park mom is upset after her neighbours, who allegedly raped her teenage son, were released on R1000 bail.
The neighbour and his friend allegedly used a pit bull to threaten the 15-year-old victim while raping him on Saturday.
The duo, both 19 years old, appeared in the Wynberg Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
My son knows them quite well. They live around the corner from us and forced him to do oral sex on them and then penetrated him,” she says.
“They had a dog with them and told him if he tries to escape they will let the dog bite him.
“And we have a court that thought they should be out on bail, when their deed is so evil.”
The 39-year-old mom says she has now been forced to take her son out of the area.
“This to me sounds like my son’s dignity is worth R1000. The system has failed me and my son.”
She says she and her son were at a house party when the suspects asked him to accompany them to the shop.
“I searched for him around midnight and he was not in the house,” says the mom.
“When I woke up around 3am on Sunday, he was sleeping on the bed.”
The heartbroken mom says she noticed something different about her son. When she asked him about it, he denied that anything was wrong.
“When he finally spoke to my sister, I was devastated. The thought that they did that to my son is really heartbreaking.”
Police spokesperson FC van Wyk has confirmed the incident.
