Mitchells Plain cops are hunting for three suspects who threatened staff at a clothing retailer at a mall before fleeing with cellphones and laptops.

Police say the men demanded merchandise from staff while threatening them with a gun at the Foschini store at the Liberty Promenade Mall on Wednesday afternoon.

The men were apparently travelling in a white VW Polo which had Eastern Cape registration number plates.

It is unclear whether CCTV footage was retrieved from the mall to help catch the skelms.

Police say no one was injured during the brazen robbery.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana, says cops have yet to arrest the robbers who managed to get away: “The Mitchells Plain police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a business robbery that occurred this afternoon at a mall in Mitchells Plain.

“According to reports, three men threatened the employees with firearms and fled the scene with laptops and cellphones.

“The suspects are yet to be arrested, no injuries were reported.”

In May last year, brazen skelms robbed the Sterns jewellery store at the mall.

Six armed balaclava-clad black men entered the store where three female sales consultants were on duty.

The frightened women were not hurt as the men started smashing display windows with hammers and took jewellery, cellphones and laptops.
