PROBE: Durbanville Police Station opened two murder cases after stabbings in Fisantekraal

The Fisantekraal community has been rocked by two murders that took place within 24 hours on Saturday, followed by another double murder on Monday night.

SAPS’ Captain FC van Wyk confirmed the police have reports of a 34- and 17-year-old who were fatally stabbed on Saturday night but there are no records of Monday’s incident.

“A 34-year-old male was stabbed in the squatter camp in Fisantekraal by an unknown male at 8.45am with an unknown object,” Van Wyk says.

“The victim ran into a tavern where he collapsed before he was taken to a nearby medical facility where he later passed away.

“At 5.50pm, a 17-year-old male was chased by suspects at Hok 11 in Klipheuwel Road and before he reached his home, he was stabbed in the neck.

“The suspect ran to a nearby farm’s gate where he collapsed and was taken away to a medical facility before he passed away.”

Van Wyk added that no arrests have been made and Durbanville Police have opened two murder cases.

Durbanville SAPS’ Captain Marchell Rhode confirmed that both victims were taken to Kraaifontein Day Hospital where they died.

A 37-year-old Fisantekraal resident told the Daily Voice that double murders have been frequent in the area recently as rival gangs fight over turf.

“Last week there was a double murder and another one last night (Monday) near Klipheuwel Road.

“I do not know what is going on because it sounds like it was all stabbings.

“The police are constantly driving around here in the area so I do not when these guys get the chance to stab each other and still run away.”
