A woman pleaded with skelms to spare her family during a home invasion in Khayelitsha.
The frightened vrou, 41, who asked not to be named, says on Saturday around 3am, they were woken by noises at her kitchen door.
She explains the robbers assaulted the family and one of the suspects wanted to rape her teenage daughter and she fears they will come back to carry out their threat.
“I don’t know what exactly they wanted from us. They have threatened to do that when they come back,” she says.
“They took all the contents in the freezer, a cellphone and money.”
She adds: “The suspects were trying to open the kitchen door.
‘I got up thinking I could escape from another door in the lounge, but we found that there were two more people there.
“They finally gained access to the house and they started assaulting us.”
She says she offered them money to leave.
“I told them to take money from my handbags, I don’t even know how much I had in there.
“They then went to the fridge and took the food and then left.”
During the attack, her eldest daughter managed to escape and alerted the neighbours.
“She helped us and at the time we didn’t realise that she had been stabbed by the suspects.
“But the neighbours called the police who responded to the complaint within a few minutes.”
Khayelitsha Police spokesperson LA West says: “We are investigating a case of attempted murder and currently following up on leads. No arrests have been made.”
