Mitchells Plain cops arrested one of their own on Friday after he was allegedly caught tampering with case dockets.
Constable Noloyiso Rwexana says detectives from the Provincial Organised Crime Unit arrested the Lentegeur detective on charges of corruption and defeating the ends of justice.
It is alleged that the 34-year-old submitted a duplicate case docket to court, omitting certain details and also a statement indicating that the original docket was gone and that insufficient evidence existed to prosecute, resulting in a charge of dealing in drugs being withdrawn against an accused, Rwexana said.
