Delft police are looking for information regarding the abduction of a 26-year-old shop owner who has been missing since Friday afternoon.
SAPS’ Joseph Witbooi said: “Delft police are investigating a case of kidnapping after unknown males arrived at Aberdene Street, N2 Gateway, on Friday before they pointed a gun at a 26-year-old man and loaded him in a white Toyota Quantum.”
He said no arrests have been made yet.
According to residents, the Ma-Money Tuckshop owner was approached on the corner of Aberdare and Silungwe Road.
A 32-year-old resident said: “The bhai was outside the shop when the Quantum pulled up very quickly.
“The guys jumped out and pointed a gun at him before they threw him into the car before driving away again.”
The van drove towards Section 23 in Delft.
“The one minute you saw the bhai standing there and the next thing he was gone,” the resident says.
“They did not even shout or anything because the ouens had a klomp guns so the bhai couldn’t fight back and the people could do nothing to stop them.
“They also drove away like mal honne and almost made an accident on the road. I hope the bhai is alright because he is a lekker ou.”
When the Daily Voice visited the shop yesterday, an employee refused to give the name of the shop owner.
“I don’t know what happened or why they took him. Nobody called to say anything to us and the police are now looking for them,” was all the employee would say.
