A Manenberg father was killed on his way to work on Monday morning in a shooting just metres away from the police station.
Police officers on morning parade got a skrik when shots were fired shortly after 7am and they found a bleeding man near the cop shop.
Father of three, Warren Page, 30, died in Venster Street after sustaining several gunshots to his head and neck.
Relatives could be seen crying on the scene but declined to comment, only saying that he was not a gangster, worked as a cleaner at the Cape Town Stadium and was on his way to work when he was shot.
Manenberg Police Station commander, Brigadier Enolium Joseph, says a second man, Marlon Theron, 36, was hit in the shooting and carried to the police station.
“He is a member of the Hard Livings (HLs) and was carried across Duinefontein Road to the back of the police station.
“He was taken to Heideveld Emergency Centre in a critical condition but survived the shooting.
“A case of murder and attempted murder is being investigated and at this stage no arrests have been made,” said Joseph.
According to a source at the scene, police are also investigating a kidnapping involving Fancy Boys who allegedly snatched an HL in Tambo Village the night before.
“According to the witnesses, a van filled with Fancies grabbed the guy in Tambo Village on Sunday night and the cops are investigating if the two incidents are related because Fancy Boys have moved in on the HL turf in the area around Venster Street,” the source says.
