Cops say the shocking murders took place yesterday at the 48-year-old father’s holiday residence in Princess Road, Hout Bay.
The bodies of the twins, a girl and boy, were found by their mother when she arrived at the flat around 2pm.
Police sources reveal the father had allegedly tried to stab the mother but that she managed to flee.
Later, when she returned to the flat, she found the bodies of her children.
Police say the man fled the scene in the woman’s car, but was caught by police in Wynberg.
