The groom and his lovely bride decided to start the road to marital bliss on the right foot by each donning their favourite pair of takkies.
Their guests couldn’t suppress their giggles when they saw Brendon and Rowena Koopman walking down the aisle in their All Stars.
Rowena’s skoene matched her stunning white wedding gown, while Brendon made sure his black takkies went with his smart suit.
The Elsies River couple say the last thing they wanted to worry about on their wedding day was seer voete en blase.

The two were married by Pastor Roland Morkel on Wednesday in Elsies.
Rowena, 35, a teacher at Clark Estate Primary School, says it’s all about compromise.
“This was another kind of wedding,” she giggles.
“Brendon didn’t even want to wear a suit but then compromised to wear a jacket, and then he got the black takkies to match.
“ Ek is nie vol fiemies nie, I am a Plain Jane, and I don’t even wear high heels.
“I like my takkies, you can walk lekker and it’s less stress on your feet, especially on your wedding day when you have to walk and stand more than usual.
“I feel young wearing my takkies.”

Brendon adds: “About two months ago we wanted to do something different on our big day and we decided to wear takkies.
“We love All Stars. The old people mos said, wanneer die skoen druk, moenie ons kom pla nie.
“So what better way to start our new life in the most comfy of shoes?”
