Police have arrested a suspect believed to be behind a stabbing frenzy in Milnerton, leaving the wife of a former member of the Milnerton Crime Watch Trust (MCWT) in a critical condition.
The drama unfolded on Wednesday, 23 April 2025 just outside of the Cash Crusaders in Milnerton when an unknown male started stabbing members of the public, the first being a female victim.
He then moved to Koeberg Road where he stabbed another victim, a male, who managed to escape, making it to the police station where he reported what had happened.
Police spokesperson Anelisiwe Manyana said the suspect was arrested and charged while the victims were in a critical condition in hospital.
Manyana reports: “We can confirm that Milnerton police opened an attempted murder case, assault with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm and possession of dangerous weapon following an incident that took place on Wednesday 23 April 2025.
“Milnerton police responded to the complaint and that resulted in the arrest of the suspect.”
Manyana explained the suspect is expected to appear at the Cape Town Magistrates Court on Friday April 25 2025.
The Milnerton Crime Watch Trust also took to their Facebook Page where they called for witnesses to come forward.
They added: “...the female victim is the wife of James Jonker who had previously assisted MCWT with our signboard project.
“It is requested that if anyone witnessed any of these incidents and has not given statements to please contact Milnerton SAPS.”
