THE South African Police Service are offering a moerse R50 000 reward in the hunt for a person of interest in a murder investigation.

Cops are on the hunt for Zimbabwean national Iryvine Dzitiro after linking him to the murder of a 49-year-old man in Green Point in October 2018. 

Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi reports: “Sea Point police are seeking the assistance of the public to trace Iryvine Dzitiro who can assist the police in their investigation of a murder case at Hillside Heights in Green Point, perpetrated on Monday 22 October 2018.

“Preliminary investigations reveal that the body of a 49 year old man was discovered inside a residence in Wessels Road. The victim sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased on the scene by the medical personnel. 

“Reports suggested that a security officer noticed an unknown man driving the motor vehicle of the deceased, a black Audi with registration number CA 589 826. 

“Later in the day he witnessed how the same person emerged from the flat of the deceased and decided to question the person of interest, who then fled after he threw a bag over the fence with the security officer in pursuit.

“During the investigations Iryvine Dzitiro, a Zimbabwean national who resided in the same complex, was identified as the person of interest.

“The South African Police Service has offered a reward of up to R50 000 for information that will lead to the arrest and successful prosecution of Iryvine Dzitiro.
