CONFISCATED: Meth in Saldanha

COPS have taken their fight against drugs war suid en wyd in the province, busting merts in Saldanha Bay and Grabouw over the weekend.
According to cops, operations - including patrols and stop-and-searches - were conducted to flush out criminals.
Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi reports: "Police members attached to Public Order Policing in the Western Cape deployed in the Saldanha Bay policing precinct, were busy with patrols when they responded to information of drug dealing.
“The members tactically approached a residence in Harder Street and searched the entire premises including the occupants, resulting in the discovery of 52 sachets filled with methamphetamine and a small quantity of Mandrax tablets.
“They detained a 35-year-old man for the possession of drugs."
Meanwhile, Overberg District cops chased down a crook after he evaded a stop-and-search.
Swartbooi adds: "Police members conducted stop and search operations in Grabouw in the Overberg District at about 2pm in Main Road when they noticed a suspicious man who attempted to evade them.
“The police members apprehended the man, searched him and in the process found in his possession a small quantity of methamphetamine. The 40 year old man faces a charge of possession of drugs.”
The two will appear in the Vredenburg and Grabouw Magistrates Court once charged for their respective crimes.
