Cops say a 48-year-old man was arrested and will appear in the Paarl Magistrates’ Court this morning.
An eyewitness explains: “It was such a traumatic thing to watch and there were also children who stood there and watched as the man stabbed her several times as she was working.
“I don’t know where the security guards were at the time of the incident.
“I saw people running and I thought it was maybe a robbery and someone was shot, but later saw that it was the cashier who was stabbed by her ex-boyfriend.”
The woman says the police quickly responded to the incident.
“The man was taken away by the police, the look in his eyes was scary, he was just motionless.”
On Sunday the mother of two wrote on Facebook that she is alive but was in pain.
“Morning everyone, I want to thank you for your prayers and also for the grace of God. I’m stable now just in a lot of pain.”
