Cops have found drugs hidden in a child’s doll.
Police say dozens of mandrax pille were found hidden in the pop discovered at a house in Delft.
According to police spokesperson Novela Potelwa, SAPS Lockdown II forces were deployed in Voorbrug, Delft, last Tuesday.
“When community members alerted the forces about drug dealing at a house in Fairhaven Street, they acted upon the information.
“Upon searching the house, they discovered mandrax tablets hidden in a doll.
“A 27-year-old suspect was arrested for possession of drugs and appeared in court on Thursday.”
Potelwa commended the public for working with cops.
She says earlier that day, Lockdown II forces also impounded a Mpumalanga-registered truck after stopping the vehicle on the R300.
“The police discovered that the engine and chassis numbers of the vehicle did not correspond.
“The vehicle identification investigation unit is currently busy with a further probe to determine the ownership of the truck.”
The same cops also made an arrest in Harare after they spotted a man who started running upon seeing the police.
“They followed and caught up with him. He was searched and the following was discovered in his possession: 87 crystal meth sachets, mandrax tablets and a substantial amount of cash. The 30-year-old suspect was arrested on charges of dealing in drugs.”
She says the forces have been deployed to some identified Cape Town communities since March 2021 to reduce serious crimes plaguing the areas.
