In a first for South Africa, Absa clients will now be allowed to do their banking via WhatsApp.
The company launched their new brand strategy this week and said WhatsApp will be a major part of their new tech innovative platform.
Absa said that the new service will be part of its “social media banking” strategy and that customers can now conduct “instant transactions” using Absa’s ChatBanking service.
The new service will be available on WhatsApp but also on Facebook Messenger and Twitter.
Absa clients will be able to check their balance, pay beneficiaries and buy airtime, data and electricity.
