The money will go towards FoodForward SA’s mission to distribute food and raise awareness of the massive food insecurity crisis that is affecting millions of South Africans due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Habana, who is also a brand ambassador of FoodForward SA, handed the cheque to the charity’s managing director, Andy du Plessis, at the FoodForward SA’s warehouse in Epping.
“We respect and value the crucial work that FoodForward SA is doing during the Covid-19 lockdown, and for the past 11 years,” Habana said.

Du Plessis said the R40k donation will assist them to prepare 50 000 hot meals.
“FoodForward SA is extremely grateful for the partnership with the Bryan Habana Foundation. The donation of R40,000 will enable us to distribute nearly 50,000 meals to vulnerable beneficiaries.
“We hope that the awareness raised through this partnership will inspire others to support the food recovery revolution.”
