Police are being commended for their swift action after they made arrests shortly after a body was found washing out along a Cape Flats beach on Saturday morning.
Just after 8am, men ready to go out on a boat at an area called Die Gat came across an object washing out below the rocks at Monwabisi Beach at high tide.
Unaware of what it was, the men on the rocks made a video, discovering that it was a body.
They initially thought it was the naked body of a female as there was seaweed stuck to the head.
The person’s hands were also tied behind their back.
The body appeared to be very pale and bleached, meaning it could have been lying in the water for some time, a source says.
