A man’s foot was amputated in a motorbike accident last night.
Pieter Rossouw, the ER24 spokesperson, says: “A man believed to be in his twenties was left with critical injuries after a collision between a light motor vehicle and a motorbike occurred (yesterday). The collision occurred on the corner of Spaangemacht Road and Ladies Mile Street in Constantia.
“When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene, they found that the driver of the motorbike had sustained a partial amputation to his foot.
“He was provided with advanced life support interventions and transported to Groote Schuur Hospital for urgent treatment. The driver of the light motor vehicle did not sustain any injuries.”
The cause of the incident remains unknown.
