Best-selling Cape Flats author Yusuf Daniels is hosting a celebrity soccer challenge to raise funds for babies in need.
The author of Living Coloured and Living Lekker is raising money for the Little Brinks Charity, who cares for sick and abandoned babies.
The footie challenge on Friday is being done in collaboration with Kaizen Healthcare and ImmuBoost and Yusuf says it will be the first of many.
“This is the first time we are doing such a fundraiser, but we trust more of these will follow and urge companies to chip in and donate to the cause and help Little Brinks, who is in desperate need of a home for their kids,” he says.
“The event on Friday is free of charge to the public but we encourage donations to Little Brinks.”
Yusuf approached local celebrities to form teams and some of the famous faces you will see kicking ball are Yusuf himself, Chad Chitter, Chad Saaiman, Salome, Loukmaan Adams, Shimmy Isaacs, Mel Jones and more.
The event is happening on Friday at 4pm at the Fives Futbol field in Clifton and Yusuf says he is expecting vinnige voetwerk and lots of laughs.
Yusuf is inviting mense to get involved and support the cause by donating but says only the first 500 people will be allowed in, so arrive early, mense.
All lockdown protocols such as wearing a mask, sanitising your hands and social distancing will be followed.
“Guys please donate to this worthy cause, these people are doing great things in Cape Town and we want them to achieve greatness, with your help this is possible,” the writer adds.
