Atlantis Police Station cops are patting themselves on the back after they busted a man with dagga worth R30 000 on Saturday in Mamre, just outside Atlantis.
A 34-year-old man is due to appear in the Atlantis Magistrate's Court on Monday on charges of possession of drugs after a huge amount of dagga pakkies, wrapped in Shoprite pamphlets and unpackaged dagga in blue council bags, were confiscated at his residence.
Police spokesman, Lieut-Col. André Traut, commended the officers for their swift response.
“Eager to rid their local community of drug dealers, members of Atlantis police conducted a search operation at a suspect’s residence in Mamre and arrested him for being in possession of a substantial quantity of dagga with an estimated street value of R30 000. The 34-year-old suspect has been detained and is scheduled to make a court appearance in Atlantis [today] to face the charge against him,” Traut said.
