A Table View family is appealing for help in finding ouma Nobandla Mbande Madzana, who was last seen on Friday.
The 78-year-old suffers from severe dementia which makes her forgetful and aggressive at times.
Daughter Abongile Mbande says: “We have searched with no luck, I think she walked further on foot as she had no money or anything with her when she left at around 11am.
“This is not the first time she managed to leave the premises, but we were lucky to find her at a police station in March.
“She’ll tell anyone she’s going to Tabasa in Mthatha.
“That’s all she speaks about when she leaves the house.
“Tabasa is in our hometown and she’s not been there since January.
“If anyone sees her, please contact us or the police. We are very worried about her and the children miss her.”
She describes her mom as a sweet, welcoming person who greets everyone with a smile.
“That could be different now as she’s been without her medication for days. She becomes violent and aggressive,” explains Abongile.
Nobandla is of medium height and body frame and was wearing a grey fleece top, brownish dress, pink socks and sleeping shoes.
SAPS’ Joseph Swartbooi, confirms: “Table View police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of a female who was last seen on 15 October in Flamingo Street in Table View.
“Anyone with information can contact the Detective Constable Luzaan Nel on 021 521 3300.”
